BIRMINGHAM, AL – Today, the following statement was released from the Alabama Republican Party:
As a result of a complaint filed by two voters in Madison County and a subsequent hearing, the Alabama Republican Party Candidate Committee has determined that Chris Messervy failed to file a required report (with previously undisclosed information) under the Fair Campaign Practices Act prior to the March 13, 2012 primary election. As a result, Mr. Messervy is not eligible to remain the nominee of the Republican Party for District Judge in Madison County pursuant to the decision of the Alabama Supreme Court in BRYAN v. HUBBARD (2008).
