Chapman Reminds Voters to Head to Polls Tomorrow

Secretary of State Beth Chapman wants to remind voters of the importance of going to the polls tomorrow, September 18th for the Special Constitutional Amendment Election.

“Most people think that you just go vote in November,” Secretary Chapman said.  “However, ballot measures such as these have a great impact on how our state government works and it’s important to be involved in this process.”

Secretary Chapman has predicted that 20-21% of voters will go to the polls tomorrow.  In the past, special constitutional amendment elections have brought as many as 50% of voters to the polls, but those elections involved controversial and well-advertised issues.

Polls will be open tomorrow from 7 AM to 7 PM.  If a voter has questions about their polling place or would like to view the amendment, they can visitwww.alabamavotes.gov.  Voter fraud complaints can be registered using the online form at www.stopvoterfraudnow.com and voters can always call 1-800-274-VOTE with questions or concerns.
