Governor Bentley to Visit Northwest Alabama as Part of Long-Term Recovery Tour
MONTGOMERY – Governor Robert Bentley will be in the towns of Phil Campbell and Hackleburg on Thursday as part of his week-long tour revisiting areas that were impacted by the April 27, 2011, tornado outbreak.
At 9:00 a.m., Governor Bentley will visit Phil Campbell Church of God. The church building was destroyed by last year’s tornado. After the storm, the church held “Services on the Slab.” But now, thanks in part to donations and volunteer efforts, the church’s new facility has been completed, and it will be dedicated soon.
At 10:00 a.m., Governor Bentley will visit the site of the Phil Campbell Memorial Park. The park, near the center of town, is being built in memory of those who lost their lives to the April 27 tornado
At 12:30 p.m., Governor Bentley will be in Hackleburg to participate in the groundbreaking of the new Wrangler Distribution Center. The Governor will join with business leaders, Wrangler employees, and community members, to celebrate the rebuilding of the Wrangler facility – the area’s largest employer.
