Governor Bentley to Announce Transportation Projects for Communities Across the State

STATEWIDE – Governor Robert Bentley on Thursday will announce more than 100 road and bridge projects that will improve infrastructure in communities across Alabama.

The projects will receive funding through ATRIP – the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program. On Thursday, Governor Bentley will participate in two news conferences detailing the ATRIP program and the long-term goals of his ATRIP initiative.

Also Thursday, a comprehensive list of projects approved for the first round of ATRIP funding will be released. The projects approved for funding range from transportation needs in large cities to road and bridge improvements throughout rural Alabama.

Thursday’s first news conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. in Clarke County. The news conference will detail a major project for the area and will be held at Gate 9 of the Boise, Inc. Mill along County Road 15 (Depot Road) in Jackson.

A second news conference will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Birmingham. The news conference will detail a major project for the community and will be held at the Haynes Auditorium of Princeton Baptist Medical Center.
