Birmingham, Ala. – Bill Armistead, Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement regarding Governor Bentley’s rejection of a component of the Affordable Care Act:
“I congratulate Governor Bentley for having the courage to reject implementing the “essential health benefits” plan contained in Obama’s Affordable Care Act, and thank him for standing up for the citizens of Alabama against this over-reach from the Obama administration. Governor Bentley is to be commended for his consistent opposition against Obamacare and his determination to ensure Alabama consumers have true choices when it comes to their health care needs. Now, it is time to make sure that Mitt Romney is elected President of the United States so that this monstrosity called Obamacare can be repealed and replaced with true, common-sense healthcare reform that will control cost and improve care.”
