ALGOP Statement on the Alabama House’s Nomination of Representative Mac McCutcheon for Speaker of the House

On Tuesday afternoon, the Republican caucus of the Alabama House of Representatives chose Rep. Mac McCutcheon, of Madison County, as the presumptive new Speaker of the House.

Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan made the following statement following the GOP House Caucus nomination:

“The Alabama Republican Party looks forward to working with Rep. McCutcheon and supporting our team. This is a time to hit a reset button for Alabama. It’s a moment to move forward and remember that the members are good, hard working men and women who love their state from all walks of life.”
