WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement in recognition of National POW/MIA Recognition Day:
“On this day, we remember and pay tribute to those brave Americans who went to war but did not come home. And we honor the bravery of those who have suffered as prisoners of war, enduring the worst at the hands of our enemies,” said Chairman Priebus. “Today, we fly the flag that bears our solemn commitment to them: ‘You are not forgotten.'”
“We think of their families, and we pray they find strength and comfort. Their loved ones are our heroes, and we owe them unyielding gratitude.”
“Each and every day, our thoughts are with the men and women who risk their lives and defend our freedom,” said Co-Chair Day. “As a nation, we must always remember them. Their service knows no rest; neither should our thankfulness.”
