With the dire problems our nation’s economy still faces with at least a 7.5% unemployment rate, it is interesting why President Obama chose to visit Birmingham today to discuss payday loans.
Since taking office, Obama has further burdened hardworking Americans with over 150 government regulations. These stifling regulations are eventually converted into taxes; withdrawing an additional $70 billion out of our paychecks every year.
This is the second time in a month the President has visited Alabama. Hopefully if he visits again, he will consider discussing issues that our citizens are most concerned about: issues like the oppressive taxes imposed on our paychecks, the crippling unemployment rate that prevents Americans from being able to even earn a paycheck, and being able to obtain affordable health care coverage instead of living with the explosive premium prices and over 100,000 coverage cancellations Alabama alone has experienced under ObamaCare, which should be renamed “The Unaffordable Health Care Act”.
Obama came to Birmingham to talk payday loans, not to talk about what our citizens care about most. In order to have a payday, you have to have a job. Obama is addressing the problem of the economy backwards. He should be focusing on stabilizing the economy so that everyday Americans don’t feel they are in a desperate enough circumstance where they think payday loans are necessary. Obama’s policies of big government and massive regulations are stifling the ability for citizens across the nation to obtain the American dream.
