Secretary of State Beth Chapman will travel to the summer meeting of the National Association of Secretaries of State this week in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Secretary Chapman currently serves as president of the organization and will spearhead the conference activities.
The Secretaries will discuss topics relating to business identity theft and important issues regarding the upcoming elections, including photo identification and military voting.
“Coming together with other Secretaries of State from around the nation has great benefits to our state,” said Chapman. “We can learn from each other and our experiences since we sometimes encounter the same issues and circumstances.”
“It has truly been an honor to be the president of such a wonderful organization like NASS. The staff and membership truly want to see their states and our nation grow and prosper. Also, everyone wants to have the most fair and honest elections that we can.”
Chapman’s participation in this conference is not funded at taxpayer expense.
