Secretary of State Beth Chapman wants to remind voters that the deadline for applying for an absentee ballot for the primary runoff election is Thursday, April 19th.
An application can be obtained from the secretary of state’s election website at www.alabamavotes.gov or the absentee election manager’s office in each county.
Marked absentee ballots sent by US mail must be postmarked no later than April 23rd and must be received no later than noon on April 24th. If the voter chooses to hand deliver his absentee ballot, the ballot must be received no later than the close of business on April 23rd.
“It is my hope that everyone who is eligible to cast their ballot in this election will do so,” said Secretary of State Beth Chapman. “Every election is important and every vote matters.”
