The special election for House District 79 officially ended at 7 p.m. CST September 13, 2016. Results of the special election: Joe Lovvorn: 2097 (51.3%) Sandy Toomer: 1059 (26.42%) Brett Smith: 501 (12.50%) Jay Conner: 431 (10.75%) Joe Lovvorn will be the Alabama Republican House District 79 certified candidate.
