On Saturday, February 24th, the Alabama Republican Party State Executive Committee voted to pass the following resolutions:
Resolution No. 2018-02
Legislation to Ban Abortions of Babies Having or Likely Having Down Syndrome
This resolution urges the Alabama State Legislature to pass legislation in the 2018 session that would ban all abortions of babies which have been diagnosed with (or possibly have) Down Syndrome.
Resolution No. 2018-03
Immigration Law Regarding Illegal Immigrants
This resolution requests that the Alabama State legislature “pass legislation to strengthen the provisions of HB 56” and asks that all Alabama elected officials “strongly support the provisions of HB 56 which have not been specifically blocked by liberal federal judges.”
Resolution No. 2018-04
Resolution Opposing DACA Legislation
This resolution states that the Alabama Republican Executive Committee opposes “any proposed ‘DACA’ bill which grants amnesty” and asks the Alabama Republican Congressional Delegation to “oppose, vote against and/or filibuster such legislation.”
Resolution No. 2018-05
Legislation to enact an Alabama Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Law
This resolution asks the Alabama State Legislature to “pass legislation in the 2018 session to ban all abortions of babies beyond 20 weeks of fertilization, unless the mother’s life is at stake.”
Resolution No. 2018-06
Resolution Calling for Amending The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (“FISA”)
This resolution calls for the Alabama Congressional Delegation “to introduce legislation to amend the FISA law so the abuses which occurred under the Obama Administration can never happen under any present or future Administration.”
Resolution No. 2018-07
Resolution Honoring the Life of Reverend Billy Graham
This resolution states “that the Alabama Republican Party honors the life of the Reverend Billy Graham and recognizes his decades of public service and his commitment to furthering the faith of Christians around the world.”
