Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) Chairman Terry Lathan issued the following statement on remarks made by Alabama Democrat State Representative John Rogers:
“During an abortion bill debate in the Alabama House of Representatives Tuesday, Democrat State Representative John Rogers made stunningly abhorrent and callous remarks about aborting children. In my 4 plus years as ALGOP Chairman, I have never seen such a torrential and instant backlash – not just from Alabamians but across the nation – to such heartless and incendiary comments.
“From Donald Trump, Jr. to Laura Ingraham, along with the reporting by national news outlets, this outrage is authentic and valid.
“Now, instead of realizing he was wrong and doing the right thing, Representative Rogers is doubling down on his outrageous statements and making horrific remarks about Donald Trump, Jr.
“The Alabama Republican Party is encouraging Alabamians to call Representative Rogers’ office and demand an apology or retraction of his insensitive and cruel words. This man is employed by the taxpayers. The number is (334) 261-0387. ”
