The Alabama Democratic Majority, led by former Alabama Democrat Party Chairman Mark Kennedy, has announced that his organization is hosting self-avowed socialist U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vermont) for an event in Homewood this evening. Sanders follows other extremists that Alabama Democrats have had as their guests in the last couple of years including Louis Farrakhan, an extreme, anti-America radical and Supreme Minister of the Nation of Islam who has been their guest two times in the last year. They also hosted television’s so-called “comedian” Bill Maher, whose slanderous hate speech continuously displays a lack of moral character, at their dinner honoring then Chairman Mark Kennedy.
Alabama Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead issued the following statement regarding the Democrats choice of Senator Sanders as their featured speaker:
“It appears that Alabama Democrats can’t get enough of left wing radical speakers who they bring to Alabama as their guests. During the last couple of years Alabama Democrats have had as their guests Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam and controversial radical comedian Bill Maher. And now, Mark Kennedy’s new organization, the Alabama Democratic Majority, is hosting “An Evening with Senator Bernie Sanders” tonight in Birmingham.
“It seems that Mark Kennedy and the Democrats can’t get enough of their far left radical friends like Farrakhan, Maher and now Bernie Sanders. Of course we know the praise that Kennedy has heaped on Barack Obama saying that Obama is “worthy of our praise” and a “good president.” In his plan for a Democratic resurgence, Kennedy outlined a need for Alabama Democrats to embrace Obama. Embrace Obama? The president whose signature legislation is costing Alabamians their jobs and causing their health care coverage to rise upwards of 300%?
“Mark Kennedy and Alabama Democrats have made it clear that they are out of step with the mainstream of Alabama voters and Alabama values. Conservative Democrats have left the Alabama Democrat Party in droves in the last few years because of the radical policies and politicians they have embraced. Voters in Alabama realize that Alabama Democrats are not listening to their needs and do not follow their values. It is clear that Alabamians do not want to be associated with an organization that embraces and praises the worst president this country has ever seen and the likes of Sanders, Farrakhan and Maher.”
