On Friday morning, Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump announced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate.
Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan made the following statement following Donald Trump’s announcement:
“There is no doubt that Donald Trump and Indiana Governor Mike Pence will be a strong team. Governor Pence’s experience in leading his state both in Congress and as governor, along with Mr. Trump’s commitment to upholding conservative values, will ensure an unstoppable ticket this November.”
“During his time in office, Governor Pence spearheaded a 1.1 billion dollar tax cut- the largest in Indiana’s history. While in Congress, he was the House Conference Chairman, the third-highest position. With the economic and social crises our nation currently faces, this team will be a much needed powerhouse of Republican leadership. Donald Trump and Governor Pence will guide our country back in the right direction. We are excited to welcome Governor Pence in our quest to make America again.”
