Bonds set for trio charged with making meth
Boaz Police Chief said the three people were arrested about 4:30 p.m. in the store parking lot after his officers found starter fluid, aluminum foil, cold pills, plastic tubing, Drano and other items consistent with the making of meth in the pickup truck they were riding in.

Elderly man fed up with roommate killed him with shotgun, say prosecutors
John Henry Edwards, a 76-year-old man who walked with a cane, had finally had enough of a roommate's behavior when he pulled a nearly 5-foot shotgun from a closet in their camper trailer, which was parked in a field in south Mobile County, prosecutors said Monday.

Noted catfish expert and executive Samuel I. Hinote dies
Samuel I. Hinote of Montrose was noted for his vast knowledge of catfish and for many years held executive positions in the farm-raised catfish industry.
Hinote, who was recognized for his industrial contributions to the state of Mississippi, died Saturday in Mobile at the age of 67.
In 1997, a series of Press-Register stories chronicled Hinote's rise from humble roots to become a leading figure in the U.S. catfish industry
